We spent some time at the National Museum of Singapore yesterday. There’s an exhibit running commemorating Dia de Muertos, the Mexican festival of the Day of the Dead festival. It’s a single room that has been decorated with an elaborate display. It’s a holiday celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of November in Mexico.
It’s origins lie in Aztec Culture, but also has elements of Catholicism in it.
In this holiday, families gather to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have passed away while celebrating the memories of their lives.
This is a free exhibit and runs till the 2nd of November 2021 at the National Museum. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth going to check out for a few minutes.
