This is perhaps the most well known Indian dish that there is. It is a staple at every Indian restaurant, and is very popular in Punjab and the rest of North India. It is surprisingly simple to make, especially if you have grill.
Ingredients
- 2 kg Chicken Thigh Fillets
- 2 tbsp Black Salt
- 2 tbsp White Pepper
- 2 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 2 tbsp Hot Curry Powder
- 2 tbsp Chilli Powder
- 2 Whole heads of Garlic (Finely Shredded)
- 20 g Ginger (Finely Shredded)
- 4 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 1 Lime (Juiced)
- 1 tbsp Tandoori Food Colouring Powder ((optional))
Instructions
Step 1: Start with the chicken thigh fillets in a deep mixing bowl.
Step 2: Add the black salt, white pepper, coriander powder, hot curry powder, chilli powder, finely shredded garlic and ginger, mustard oil, lime juice, and tandoori food colouring powder, and mix thoroughly.
Step 3: Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
Step 4: Place the chicken on a heated grill plate, and grill for 20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes, until well done.
Step 5: Serve with a selection of vegetables
